This 3 session math camp will allow students to review operations with fractions and mixed numbers. Students will learn tips and tricks for understanding word problems and how to solve them. Practice word problems will focus on fractions and mixed numbers and will include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division examples. Below is the topic for each session of the course:

Session 1: Reviewing Fractions, Improper Fractions, Mixed Numbers, and Fraction Operations
Session 2: Adding and Subtracting Word Problems
Session 3: Multiplying and Dividing Word Problems

During class, students will begin with a warm-up question to gauge previous knowledge. Short lectures and example problems will be presented before students will be given time to practice guided problems. Students will be given 4 to 6 option homework questions at the conclusion of each session. During the following session, learners will have the opportunity to review their answers and ask questions to better their understanding. Students will have opportunities to interact with other classmates and will often use the Whiteboard Annotate feature on Zoom.

Students should have some prior knowledge/experience with fractions or mixed numbers as this class will focus more on improving skills and analyzing word problems.
