Students will learn this concept through the process of modeling, guided practice, and independent learning. I will first model both visuals for some math problems. Students will watch my demonstration. I will then lead them through a guided practice, in which students will create their own visuals. During this part of the lesson, students will interact with me and their peers. Finally, students will engage in independent practice, where they will have the opportunity to solve math problems either with or without the visuals.

Supply List
Students will need either a whiteboard and dry erase marker, or paper and a pencil with a good eraser. Students must have the ability to erase if needed.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello! My name is Jessie Bethea! I teach preschool age students here on Outschool. My degree is in Elementary Education with a minor in Studio Art. This is my seventh year of teaching, and I have loved every minute of my journey as an educator! I have taught both in public and private schools, and have experience in second grade, fifth grade, elementary art, and special education. However, I have recently left the classroom to stay home with my two children and homeschool them. My children are aged 4 and 18 months old. I am now working from home to help support my family, while homeschooling my children. Outschool provides the perfect opportunity for me because I get to do what I love, while also being there for my babies. My teaching style is fun, hands-on, and lively. I love to make my students laugh and have fun. My favorite part about teaching is giving struggling students the support they need to succeed! I can't wait to meet my new students on this platform.
