Description

Class Experience

We will meet 5 times to create original art using functions in Desmos (free online graphing software).   This is a project that has been successfully created by different levels of math learners.   Along the way we will be learning how to limit domain and range, how to transform a function and to appreciate the beauty of math.

Students will create art while discussing and sharing the work they are completing.   Projects will be shared with the teacher so we can appreciate each others work.  ...

Students will show a grasp of limiting domain and range using their artwork as well as exploring different types of functions such as quadratic, exponential, linear, cubic as well as trigonometric functions.  Students do not need prior knowledge in order to work on this project.  We will be exploring and enjoying the process together.

I am a math educator with a Masters of Mathematics.  I believe math is a fascinating subject when the foundation is taught properly.

Students can work on their individual projects on their own time or continue to work on it in class.

3 hours per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
