US Grade 5 - 8
In this weekly class, I will walk students through the skills needed to understand and confidently answer problems students will encounter in Algebra 1. I will demonstrate the steps needed to solve the problem and have the students watch. Then the students will work through several problems with me and be encouraged to talk me through solving the problems. After this, students will be able to do our last few problems of the class on their own using the steps we've practiced. As students get stuck or held up on a problem, we will use it as a time to encourage them and help them figure out the next step to solve. October - Week 1 (October 30) : Rational Numbers November: - Week 2 (November 6) : Rational Numbers - Week 3 (November 20): Slope December: - Week 4 (December 4): Slope - Week 5 (December 11): Slope - Week 6 (December 18): Speed/Distance/Time
Learning Goals
By the end of the semester course, learners will be able to answer Semester 1 of Algebra 1 problems confidently .
