In this one-time class, learners will prepare for an *imaginary* Eggstraordinary Egg Hunt. They will need to utilize their addition, multiplication and division skills as they work to solve word problems in the context of this Egg Hunt adventure. Learners will have many opportunities to share their thinking and problem solving throughout the class. I always encourage students to work with one another to solve problems and share a variety of strategies for reaching the same answers. This class is open to students who are needing to practice new multiplication/division skills and those who just want to have fun and reinforce skills they already feel confident in! I will be there every step of the way to support learners and provide equal opportunities for students to contribute to the activity. If you don't see a date/time that works for your learner, please reach out with a request and I will be happy to accommodate your learner to the best of my ability! Types of problems: - Division equations within 10 - Division word problems - 2-step multiplication/repeated addition word problems - "I-Spy" activity

Teacher expertise and credentials
Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hello! My name is Eva Zotkin. I am a licensed elementary teacher providing interactive, math based escape rooms and 1:1 elementary math tutoring. I received my degree in elementary education, linguistics and ESL in 2015 and have been teaching in the classroom ever since! I am passionate about providing engaging learning opportunities that inspire students to reach their goals and explore new interests. When is comes to math, I believe there is no such thing as "one strategy fits all." Therefore I introduce students to multiple ways of approaching a problem so that they can decide what works best for them. Escape rooms are one of my favorite ways to engage my mind in something fun and I love getting to see the wheels turn in learners' minds as they work to solve puzzles. I believe that learning should always take place in a low stakes environment where every learner feels safe to make mistakes and learn from others. I have had many opportunities to make mistakes and grow from them as I have pursued my degrees and developed my skills in non-academic settings such as tennis, field hockey and violin. I cannot wait to meet your learner and help them grow! If you see a class and the time offered doesn't fit your schedule, please reach out and request a time! I will do my best to accommodate the request!
