US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner Level
✅ Grade 5 focuses on three key advancements from previous years: (1) developing fluency with addition and subtraction of fractions, and developing understanding of multiplication and division of fractions in certain cases; (2) integrating decimal fractions into the place value system and developing fluency with operations with whole numbers and decimals to hundredths; and (3) developing understanding of volume. 🔴 This class will be conducted entirely online. Each week, students will complete activities designed to enhance their math skills and knowledge. Interactive tasks will be submitted to the teacher, who will provide feedback through messages, recordings, and other formats. A significant advantage of this flexible class is that learners can take as much time as they need to review the activities. The order in which the topics are covered is subject to change at the instructors discretion but this will not affect the curriculum covered. ● Class Structure/Experience: Each week, students will learn and practice new concepts. On Fridays, I will review their submissions and provide individualized feedback to ensure they are mastering the material. ● Teaching Style: Student-Centered! Expect numerous interactive activities, games, and discussions. Research shows that a student-centered instructional model is essential for effective learning! ● Interaction Level: Medium to High! Students will have the opportunity to engage with me via their learner chat. Ensuring the safety of my learners is my top priority. All interactive activities are carefully selected to maximize learning while maintaining a safe environment.
Learning Goals
Students will learn key math concepts and skills to excel in 5th grade math.
