Beginner Level
Welcome to our ongoing semi-private voice class where you will learn to sing freely, safely, and with control. This class will focus on the different ingredients that make up the vocal recipe. Each week, students will explore and master a specific ingredient, allowing them to develop a strong and versatile voice. Our class will be limited to a small group of students to ensure personalized attention and individualized feedback. The class is suitable for singers of all levels, from beginning through advanced. Students will be able to choose a song to sing from a recommended list. Throughout the course, students will learn various techniques to improve their voice, including vocal warm-ups and exercises designed to practice the part of the body we are working with that class. We will focus on proper posture, diction, and articulation to ensure clear and powerful delivery. Our class will be conducted in a supportive and encouraging environment, where students can ask questions, receive feedback, and learn from one another. By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of the different ingredients that make up the vocal recipe and how to apply these techniques to singing. Here is a sample of what we will be studying: Week 1: Getting to Know Your Voice - Song Choices Week 2: Power and Support (Torso) Week 3: Anchoring (Head and Neck) Week 4: Controlling your Air Pressure (Vocal Fold Closings) Week 5: Discovering Your Belt Week 6: Creating Bright and Dark Tones (AES / Larynx) Week 7: Tongue / Velum Week 8: Jaw / Lips Week 9: Vowels and Placement Week 10: Vocal Workshops and Coaching
