This class is taught in English.
Students will learn how to structure four essays. Students will understand how to develop a thesis statement. Students will learn how to implement outlines and graphic organizers to assist with their writing process.
All Academy teachers have higher education and expertise teaching writing courses. Individual teacher profiles can be viewed on the main profile page.
Students will have weekly essay writing assignments.
4 files available upon enrollmentStudent may need lined writing paper, pencil/pen, and/or erasers for note taking. However, PPTs will be posted after class so taking notes is optional. Essays must be submitted as: .doc, .docx, .rtf., .txt, .pdf, or as a GoogleDoc. If none of these options are available the essay can be typed and directly submitted in the chatbox.
All submitted work will receive feedback both in-text and on a rubric.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Parents, please make sure you’re checking the classroom and the teacher tab to ensure that your children are submitting their work. Work that isn’t submitted cannot receive feedback and work that isn’t turned in by the due dates will not receive feedback.
