Students will learn how to effectively write a variety of essays and learn to use graphic organizers and a word processor to complete the task. 

I have over 30 years of teaching experience. I am endorsed in School Counseling K-12 (Masters Degree), Elementary Education, and Special Education K-12, and I have a middle school English endorsement. I regularly worked with students on writing essays. I have been teaching writing classes for those students who really struggle with writing and those classes have been well received and reviewed. 

Homework Offered
Students need to come prepared for class with their topic, main ideas, and details ready to go. If a student is not finished with the essay, they can finish at home and feedback will be given on the finished essay, however I have found most do best if they work in class.  Students can take more than one week per essay if needed.  If assistance is needed student can message the teacher. If parents want the students to work outside of class, they can let me know.

Assessments Offered
Teacher will provide feedback on writing. This is done during class as they are writing or done with editing comments on the paper.
Grades Offered

The class uses google docs as we construct the essays, this is very helpful for those with learning differences. Every student works at their own pace. I can work with the family on how to help specific needs. 

Students need to be able to type on a google doc. The essays are 6 paragraphs long, so they need to have ideas for 4 main ideas and details.
