This class will deal with how to master that first job interview. Whether someone will have a job interview coming up, or they simply want to know what to expect in a job interview. This class will help them either way. I have broken it down into four sections as follows: 1) Why do you want to work here? This deals with a two part question. The student will be asked, "Why do they want to work here?" The student will want to give that a lot of thought, and not give simply a basic answer. The purpose of this section is to have it where the student will want to come up with an answer that separates them from the other candidates. 2) Strengths and Weaknesses This section deals with what are the candidates strengths and weaknesses. This is a common question that is asked, and once again something the student will want to give a lot of thought. Everyone has a weakness, and you do not want to say anything that will sabotage the interview, but at the same time try to focus turning that weakness into a strength. 3) Goals Two common questions that are asked is about your future would be: 1) Where do you see yourself in two years? 2) Where do you see yourself in five years? I will go into why a company asks these questions, and what is the best response to them. 4) What to ask the person conducting the interview? This is something that is often overlooked, but is actually very important. Even though you are the one applying for the job, you are also interviewing them. You want to make sure that where you are applying is a good fit for you. I will go into what questions to ask the interviewer, and also what questions not to ask.
Learning Goals
My biggest goal is to have where the student has the confidence that is needed when going into a job interview. A job interview can be very intimidating for many, and I hope I can take away some of that fear.
Although the questions that I will bring up may possibly not be in every single kind of interview it will give them an idea of what to expect when preparing for their interview.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have taught English online since 2018, and I have taught vocabulary related to job interviews on many occasions.
The platform where I previously conducted classes on job interviews was EF Education First. In the beginning EF had a lesson plan, though I chose instead of going through the slides, to focus on mock interviews. It was through here that I came up with the various questions, which I use in this course such as "Strengths and Weaknesses", and "Goal Related Questions" ( For example, "Where do you see yourself in two years?" ).
Many of the students had an interview that was coming up, but on occasion there was a student where there job was to conduct interviews in their native language, but were now looking to conduct interviews in English. This provided an excellent opportunity for both myself, and the student as we were able to use our experience in our perspective fields in order to critique each others work. There was at times a student whose job it was to conduct interviews to ask a question such as, "What is your relationship status?". In most cases I would find this question irrelevant, and possibly inappropriate since it is more of a personal question. The student responded the reason why this question was asked is because the job requires a lot of travel, which may not be good for one's personal life. I could see her point, though I think when one is researching they will be told in advance that travel will be a significant part of the job. ( Examples of this would be someone working in aviation for example ).
The age group for this class will be high school students, and some may use it to secure an internship, if not a job. Though I believe if someone is not looking for a job, this class will prepare them for that moment, when the time comes.
During my time at EF, the students were mainly adult students. I did have some students from high school, though none from elementary school years. During my time at Outschool I have worked with younger students focusing on language learning pronunciation ( Tongue Twisters in English is a class popular with younger students ) I have also been a tutor with younger students helping them with random subjects in the early 2000s, and was a substitute teacher in local school districts working with students in special education.
