Class

Average rating:5.0Number of reviews:(1)
This class focuses on test prep for the Reading and Writing Section on the Digital SAT. Each lesson teaches a grammar rule or stylistic issue, models strategies for answering questions, and lets students practice with my help.

Class experience

This class is taught in English.
Depending on their attendance in class students will learn the ways that the following grammar rules and stylistic devices are usually demonstrated on the SAT. Furthermore, students will be able to define and understand the following terms and styles:
Aug 13: Subject-Verb Agreement and Parallelism
Aug 20: Verb Tense and Pronoun Case and Antecedent Agreement
Aug 27: Active/Passive Voice, Concise Writing, and Redundancy

I've taught SAT prep for several years through in-class learning and one-on-one instruction. Beyond that experience, I have a MA in English Education and teach English in public school for the last decade.
Homework Offered
Since this is an ongoing class, homework will be assigned but supplemental. Students who attend regularly will receive more from the lessons because homework will be assigned to help them practice the skills they have learned. Those students who might come in sporadically will not be responsible for homework.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
The assessment will be informal. It will be demonstrated by the questions students start and end the class voicing.

Profile
I teach classes centered on the speaking, reading, and writing of the English language. I've taught for a decade and have read since I was a little boy. I love the written word and treasure impeccable communication. This is why I'm here. I can't...
