This one-time math lesson was solely designed for developing and mastering the concept of number bonds. A number bond is one of the important concepts in math. When young children develop and master the concept of number bonds in their early stage of math education, it will greatly help them to compute in arithmetic such as addition and subtraction. Their solid concept of number bonds become a strong tool for doing math in later years. In this lesson, students will practice building number...
Students will be able to use manipulatives to represent number bonds of 10. Students will express number bonds of 10 as equations. Students will be able to find all possible number bonds of 10 systematically. Students will identify missing numbers to complete number bonds of 10.
Certified in Elementary Education in Korea: Taught math, science, and English in Korea for 7 years in public elementary schools. Certified in Elementary Education (K-6) in Alabama/North Carolina Certified in English as a Second Language (K-12) in Alabama/North Carolina: Taught ESL for 3 years in public schools in NC.
Please, bring two different colors of play dough and a die. A handout for the craft will be emailed, once you enrolled for the lesson.

We will use a website called didax.com. (https://www.didax.com/apps/unifix/) This website provides free virtual linking cubes which are online manipulatives for math subject. Students go to this website and build number bonds using the virtual cubes.
