Class Experience

This lower elementary math class will help children learn to look for specific words in story problems that will help them more readily solve word problems. We will learn to remove information that is unnecessary, as well as learn which math word problems are missing specific necessary information in order for the word problem to be solved. We will also learn to illustrate the problem, if necessary, in order to see the information in a more concrete way. Once we have solved the problem, we...

Students will learn how to solve word problems by looking for specific wording, illustrations, learning to evaluate the problem for irrelevant materials and deciding if the answer makes sense.
