Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
What's On TV? is a custom-made interactive game for learners within the beginner to intermediate levels of basic math. This game is (usually) great for 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade and 5th graders who are learning, practicing or reviewing their multiplication and division math concepts.

>>> Multiplication (using facts 1-12)
>>> Division (using multiplication facts 1-12)

Learners will use their multiplication and division skills to help Tom and Jerry settle an age-old score of wins and losses.

All children need to learn foundational math concepts, but let's face it . . . they'd rather be playing games with their friends. Well, in ALL of my math game classes, I encourage them to do both! If your learner enjoys this class, go checkout my Mastering Math: Virtual Gaming Club and join us weekly as we practice math and play endless games with friends. :-)

Other Details

Parental Guidance
This math game is a highly interactive and very competitive activity. The learners will have a chance to compete against each other (or the instructor) as they play. Not all students will win. Learners should be able to exhibit good sportsmanship regardless if they win or lose. In this session the materials will be presented to the learners via an interactive Canva, PowerPoint or Google slideshow presentation (shared on the teacher's device, only). No external links will be clicked. No additional websites will be visited. No additional logins are necessary for the learners.
Supply List
Sometimes enrolled learners choose to have scratch paper on side of them to help think through the process. Writing isn't necessary for solving all of the challenges; however, having a couple sheets of scratch paper can be helpful for visualizing and jotting down notes.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My expertise as a home educator and private school teacher have afforded me 10+ years teaching math concepts to students of all ages (especially grades 1-7). Throughout those years I have developed many ways to make math mastery attainable for learners within the different levels. My favorite way is through playing games.
