All children need to learn math, but let's face it . . . they'd rather be playing games with their friends. In our Mastering Math: Virtual Gaming Club we encourage them to do both! EACH MONTH we will play a DIFFERENT GAME using specific math concepts to pass the levels. EACH WEEK learners will be challenged with a DIFFERENT LEVEL of that current month's game. Learners will practice multiplying and dividing integers as they play the game. Our club sessions are highly interactive and...
In this club learners will work toward mastering the following math concepts: >>>Multiplying Integers >>>Dividing Integers
My experiences as a home educator and private school teacher have afforded me 10+ years teaching math concepts to students of all ages. Throughout those years I have developed many ways to make math mastery attainable for learners within the different levels. My all time favorite way is through gaming.
There is no required homework; however, students are encouraged to continue practicing their math concepts outside of our club, so that they can level up faster.
2 files available upon enrollmentEnrolled learners will not need to bring anything to our club sessions. Some learners may want to have a pencil and paper to use as scratch paper, but it is not mandatory.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Our club sessions are highly interactive and very competitive. The learners will have a chance to compete against each other each week and earn rewards as they play. These are real competitions. Not all students will win. Learners should be able to exhibit good sportsmanship regardless if they win or lose.
In this club the materials will be presented to the learners via an interactive Canva or Google slideshow presentation (shared on the teacher's device, only). No external links will be clicked. No additional websites will be visited. No additional logins are necessary for the learners.
