Description

Class Experience

Learners will be introduced to the concept of multiplication using a hands on method. Learners will use arrangements of candy rows to see the connection between repeated addition and multiplication. This hands on approach helps to solidify the understanding of multiplication as facts are memorized. We will begin with multiplying by zero and one before using a multiplication chart to find simple patterns for the easiest facts. About 50 pieces of small candy such as M&Ms or Skittles, paper and pencil or a white board and marker.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
