Class Experience
During our 1-on-1 tutoring session learners will work toward mastering math concepts according to their current level of study by reviewing them in a math game. These private (1-on-1) math game tutoring sessions can be scheduled for the following ages and levels of study: 🔶 Ages - 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 🔶 Levels - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th Math concepts of study may include the following: 🔷 Numbers (place value, rounding, greater than, less than, etc.) 🔷 Addition 🔷...

My experiences as a home educator and private school teacher have afforded me 10+ years teaching math concepts to students of all ages, especially 1st through 7th graders. Throughout those years I have developed many ways to make math mastery attainable for learners within the different levels. My all-time favorite way is through gaming.
There is no required homework; however, students are encouraged to continue practicing their math concepts outside of our group tutoring sessions. Homework will not be assigned because the instructor doesn't enjoy grading papers. It stresses her out. 😄 The instructor will communicate to parents/guardians regarding what the learner is excelling at and whether they notice any challenges, throughout the session.

Our 1-on-1 tutoring sessions are highly interactive and (sometimes) competitive. The learners will have a chance to compete against the instructor, or the game (but also work together) each week and earn rewards as they play. Not all students will win. Learners should be able to exhibit good sportsmanship regardless if they win or lose. In this group the materials will be presented to the learners via an interactive Canva or Google slideshow presentation (shared on the teacher's device, only). We also may utilize Google Docs for the assessments. No external links will be clicked. No additional websites will be visited. No additional logins are necessary for the learners.
