Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 8
Each session of this one to one course will be tailored to the individual needs of your learner. This class can help refine skills and build confidence for students who are working on admissions essays, creative writing and story-craft, the 5 paragraph essay, poetry or prose. Students will increase their comfort level in using many writing techniques. I use pre and post class communication with the family to build a lesson that is targeted to meeting the goals of each learner for each session. Students will be given example writing passages, graphic organizers, and real time writing exercises during the class session. Writing exercises in class will be done on shared google documents which allow collaboration and immediate feedback on writing assignments. This course can benefit learners of all ability levels.

Learning Goals

Students will learn to write for various assignments with a confident voice, a logical flow, proper grammar and syntax. Students will learn prewriting techniques and proofreading strategies.
