SUMMARY OF THE CLASS In this 3-week, course students will meet 3 times a week to learn the perfect structure for 3 different types of essays. Essay writing is so important for students to master in middle school because essay writing is going to be a major part of their education from here on out. Students will learn how to structure 3 popular types of essays. They will learn how to craft their own essays in these structures. They will also write 3 essays from start to finish which will give them the confidence to be able to write an essay that they come up against.
Homework Offered
Students will be writing most of the essays on their own. We will go over the structures in class and go over several examples. Students then will replicate the structure of their own and we will go over the homework in the next classes. Depending on how fast students can write the essay parts this will mean about 2 to 4 hours of homework a week.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class

Students will need A computer, A word processor so they can share their essays with me. Paper and pencils or pens to take notes in class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I may use a Kahoot to review the concepts on the last day of class.
All articles and material for the class will be provided and will be posted in the Outschool classroom before the start of the class.
