Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to structure 3 popular types of essays. They will learn how to craft their own essays in these structures. They will also write 3 essays from start to finish which will give them the confidence to be able to write an essay that they come up against.
Students will be writing most of the essays on their own. We will go over the structures in class and go over several examples. Students then will replicate the structure of their own and we will go over the homework in the next classes. Depending on how fast students can write the essay parts this will mean about 2 to 4 hours of homework a week.
Students will need A computer, A google account so they can share their essays with me through Google Classroom Paper and pencils or pens to take notes in class. A printer or a way to digitally write on handouts.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
All articles and material for the class will be provided and will be posted in the Outschool classroom before the start of the class.
