This is a great class for middle schoolers who want to master their division skills. Knowing how to divide is vital to a student's success in math class -- in high school and beyond. After these four lessons, your child will go into math class with more confidence. Structure of Classes: - begin with question of the day to get warmed up - discuss last class' homework - learn new concept - practice concept with anchor tasks - work together on problem set questions - HW assigned ***Students will get a copy of the whiteboard notes after each class*** Prerequisites: Students should have passed grade 5 math. I follow Fishtank Learning (fishtanklearning.org), a curriculum that has been reviewed by EdReports (https://www.edreports.org) and received high ratings for providing students with the skills and knowledge they will need to succeed in college and beyond. Fishtank is RELEVANT, RIGOROUS AND ADAPTABLE. Class Interaction: - I ASK THAT STUDENTS LEAVE THEIR VIDEOS ON DURING OUR LESSON. - This makes them active owners of their own learning. - The class becomes more student-driven.

I provide students with the skills and knowledge they will need to succeed in high school, college and beyond.
I teach high-quality content. My material is rigorous and meaningful to everyday life.
I requalified as a Senior Math Teacher at the University of Toronto in 2015. So, I am current regarding math teaching techniques. My classes are research-based, brain-boosting, and most of the "new" buzz words.
I follow Fishtank Learning (fishtanklearning.org), a charter school curriculum that has received the highest ratings by EdReports (https://www.edreports.org). Fishtank Learning prepares students to succeed in college and beyond.

I am an experienced classroom math teacher and hold a professional teaching certificate (University of Toronto) in the province of Ontario, Canada.
...................................................................................................................................................
I also have a Masters in Business Administration (MBA 2009, University of Calgary). I have worked for large corporations (pharmaceutical and telecommunications), plus I started my own successful business working with engineers, technicians, scientists. I have a lot of first-hand experience how math is used in the "real" world.
.......................................................................................
When I'm not teaching online, I am busy gardening (my passion), playing chef in the kitchen, hiking in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, cycling, or just hanging out with friends. Cosimo, my cat, likes to check zoom, so don't be surprised if he tries to show off in the middle of a lesson!
