Mastering Calculus: A Comprehensive Five-Month Journey With an Expert Guide
What's included
60 live meetings
45 in-class hoursHomework
2-4 hours per week. Problems sets are provided for students to complete on their own each week. This is expected to take students about three hours per week. The problem sets are meant to reinforce the concepts taught in class. To get the most benefit out of my class, it is strongly recommended that students complete the problem sets.Grading

Embark on a dynamic calculus journey with me! Over the next five months, dive deep into the fascinating world of calculus. We’ll explore everything from limits and derivatives to integrals, differential equations, sequences, series, parametric equations, and polar coordinates. Interactive Live Classes: Attend three engaging live classes each week, where I introduce new topics and we tackle problems together. My teaching style is highly interactive, with plenty of student input and collaboration. Weekly problem sets reinforce the concepts we cover in class. Expert Instruction: With 19 years of teaching experience, including at top Canadian boarding schools like Shawnigan Lake School and Brentwood College, I bring a wealth of knowledge to the table. I’ve taught AP, IB, CLEP, dual-enrollment, and honors classes, as well as university-level calculus. I have a special passion for teaching homeschoolers and extensive experience working with students with learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADD, ADHD, concussions, and anxiety. My teaching approach is kind, patient, fun, paced, interactive, and most importantly, effective. Prerequisites: Before enrolling, ensure you’ve completed my Pre-Calculus Course or mastered key pre-calculus concepts, including linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. A solid understanding of trigonometry, especially the unit circle and trig identities, is highly recommended. If you’re unsure about your readiness, feel free to reach out to me. Embark on this exciting calculus adventure with me and unlock your full potential!

Supply List
I provide packages of problem sets for students to complete outside of class each week. If you have a tablet and pen, please have that ready for class so that you can write and interact during the lesson. If you don't have a tablet, it is not mandatory and class is still fun and interactive and very effective without it.

Teacher expertise and credentials
UPDATE: In addition to all of my private and group classes on Outschool, I am currently teaching several groups of students in Gaza. This is a collaboration between Outschool and two non-profit organizations: Horizon's Academy and the Gazan Student Support Network. As my Gazan students face unimaginable difficulties on a daily basis, I am filled with pride in them for their continued commitment to their studies, their hard work and their kind and humorous words. Teaching these students in Gaza has been an honour and a privilege and I look forward to continuing to teach these students AP Calculus and AP Chemistry until the end of this school year.
I studied Biochemistry at Queen's University and I have nineteen years of teaching experience. In that time, I have helped hundreds of students succeed!
I am the owner of a small tutoring business which I have operated for over fifteen years.
I specialize in teaching algebra, pre-algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, foundations of math, advanced functions, calculus, chemistry, physics, math and science at the middle school, secondary and post-secondary level. Including AP, IB and college-level courses.
My teaching style is methodical and I focus on improving the students' grades. In fact, several of my most highly motivated students have recently been accepted to medical school in the UK, directly from grade 12!
I have worked with students from many different private and public secondary and post-secondary institutions across Canada including Shawnigan Lake School, Brentwood College School, Queen's University, UBC and many others.
I have years of experience teaching students with learning disabilities including: dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, concussions and others.
I have worked with students from all over the world and I am sensitive to cultural differences and adjust my teaching style to suit my students.
In addition to my professional experience, I also homeschooled my little niece during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have been teaching her almost daily since she was four and now she is ten and she is reading, writing and doing math in two languages!
On Outschool, I offer classes in:
algebra, geometry, trigonometry
pre-algebra
advanced functions
pre-calculus
foundations of math
chemistry 11, 12, AP, IB (SL)
physics 11, 12, AP, IB (SL)
calculus 12, AP, IB (SL)

I love teaching and I love helping my students succeed. There is nothing more rewarding than helping my students improve and achieve their goals!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling, dancing (Salsa and Bachata) and spending time with my family!
I look forward to hearing from your family and teaching your child how to work hard and do their best in math and science!
