Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 12
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this one-on-one biology tutoring session, students will explore key topics, including cell structure and function, genetics, evolution, and ecosystems. Each session will be structured to cover one main topic, allowing for in-depth discussion and understanding. The class will be tailored to the individual learner's pace, ensuring that concepts are grasped before moving on.

My teaching style is interactive and student-centered, focusing on clear explanations and encouraging questions. Students will engage in discussions, problem-solving activities, and real-world applications, with opportunities to apply their knowledge through practical examples and interactive exercises.

No prior experience is required, but a basic understanding of scientific concepts will be helpful. For students who enroll late, I will provide a brief overview of missed content and offer resources to help them catch up. Each session will conclude with a summary of key takeaways and any assigned readings or activities to reinforce learning.

Learning Goals

Students will learn to identify and understand the structure and function of cells, explore the roles of genes in heredity and evolution, and examine ecosystems and their interconnections.
Students will develop skills in scientific inquiry, enabling them to formulate hypotheses, conduct experiments, and analyze data.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I hold a strong academic background in biology and am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology. My coursework and research have covered key areas such as molecular biology, genetics, immunology, and cancer biology, providing me with a deep understanding of the subject. I currently serve as a Teaching Assistant at the university, where I guide students in understanding complex biological concepts and laboratory techniques. Additionally, during my bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, I tutored fellow students in various biology-related subjects, including cell biology, metabolic pathways, and immunology. I worked with students one-on-one and in small groups, helping them grasp challenging concepts, prepare for exams, and improve their academic performance. While my tutoring experience primarily involved college-level students, it has prepared me to work with younger learners as well. I am patient, adaptable, and skilled at breaking down complex topics into simpler, more digestible parts. My passion for biology and my ability to connect with students make me well-suited to help your child succeed in their studies.
