Welcome!! In this ongoing course students will practice the concepts outlined in the Algebra 1 curriculum according to the common core state standards. This class will meet live, 3 times a week to ensure that we are able to cover topics in detail and allow time to check student mastery. During this ongoing course we will learn concepts in an interactive format. Students will be able to build understanding throughout the class period, have problems modeled for them, and have time to do...
I have a degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and 15 years of teaching experience, 3 of which have been online.
There will be homework worksheets given at the end of some classes. Students will be able to email me their answers and I will give feedback to ensure the student understands the work.
I expect each student to come to class with a pencil, a print out of the guided notes (or blank paper if no guided notes are given), and calculating device for most classes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
