Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Writing is the the way you express your ideas to others. It is important to be able to write effectively. I enjoy writing and have found many students struggle with writing. If they learn the proper way to format at an essay and can utilize a graphic organizer and a word processor, it can be a much easier process. Once this is mastered you can write many different styles of essays.
Each week we will focus an on a different type of essay, learn what makes this type of essay unique, and apply what we have learned to that type of essay. No prior knowledge is needed and students can join at anytime.

I will post info to the classroom each week on Sunday for the week.
The first class I will go over using the graphic organizer and some basic information on essay writing.
Each week we will learn about the new type of essay, and then students will write an essay using that style. I will provide a video in the classroom for each type of essay for the students to review when needed. I will be able to see their progress as they work, I will provide a link to their google doc to type on.
Students will working on their essay during the week. As they need help, they can message me and I will assist. I can also monitor progress and offer suggestions as they work. Students are welcome to post their essays in the classroom if they wish for others to see, but it is not required. If anyone posts, only positive, constructive comments will be allowed.
