If you have a learner who is falling behind in math concepts, needs a refresher on earlier math concepts, or starting 3rd grade for the first time this course is for you. The focus is on concept learning. We will understand what it means and looks like to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. We will also learn tricks to making the operation easier. We will also learn mental math tricks. So, learners will learn to solve answers in their heads. This class uses Nearpod to engage with the teacher and other students through challenges and activities. Students can access Nearpod via an internet browser or by downloading the app. IXL also pairs well with this class for extra practice. Please see the Syllabus for specific week-by-week topics. Hello! My name is Mrs. JaLes and I am dedicated to proving that learning is effective when kids have the freedom to explore. What do I mean by this? From a early age our kids are learning everything from exploring (touching, engaging, inquiring, investigating, practicing, reassessing, and finally conquering). Then they start school and we add structure and try to make them fit in a box.
