In this upbeat class, students learn the parts of speech, how to identify them and their proper usage. This class combines all of my individual parts of speech classes into one, comprehensive English class for elementary students.

Are you ready to become a MASTER as you learn ALL you need to know about the 8 parts of speech? In this engaging 8 week session, students will meet 2x a week to become a parts of speech expert. Through teacher led discussion, examples, games and practice, students will become familiar with: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, interjections, conjunctions and prepositions. Each part of speech will have 2 dedicated classes per week along with review from previous weeks, so that students can continue to build their knowledge and understanding throughout the 8 weeks. Students will be encouraged to practice outside of class and will be given opportunities to do so when the teacher provides activities that can be done as extension at home and between class sessions. This class is designed to make learning fun and understandable for everyone. Students will gain a greater understanding and confidence in language arts, leading to better comprehension and appreciation of grammar and its proper usage. Hello & welcome to Outschool! My name is Suzi and I'm excited to share a bit about myself.
I am a former elementary school teacher turned homeschooling mom. I have a background in Literacy education and find joy in teaching new things and helping students discover their interests through content and instruction. I think it's important to engage students through storytelling, example and hands on experiences.
As a teacher, I've taught everything from pre-school through high school grades and across all content areas. My favorite subjects to teach are history and math and I have a serious love of language and how to use it, whether it be through writing, speaking or problem solving.
My family and I live in Wisconsin. We have 3 children and 3 dogs and are originally from the East Coast...but are starting to realize we're destined to be midwesterners! My oldest is in her first year at The United States Military Academy at West Point, my middle is a junior in high school and my youngest is a freshman. I hope to see you in class soon!
