Class Experience

*** This class is for learners who are ALREADY FLUENT and very confident in their math facts, and are doing great in recognizing patterns. We will not go over regular (standard) multiplication methods. If you would like your learner to practice the standard methods then please contact me for private tutoring. 

 In this class students will have a chance to practice and learn their multiplication mental math strategies.

Learning Goals:

- to multiply multi-digit numbers up to 4 digits by a two-digit whole number using non-formal written and mental math methods,
- to use their knowledge of the order of operations to carry out mental math multiplication,
- to solve problems involving multiplication using mental methods,
- to recall multiplication and division facts for multiplication tables up to 10 × 10,
- to recognize and use factor pairs and commutativity in mental calculations.

One problem pre week.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
