Description
Class Experience
Students will build confidence and learn the skills necessary to be an effective speaker in a variety of settings. We will cover class presentations, speaking for clarity and effectiveness, debate and verbal arguments and techniques, and how to deal with unexpected distractions. Throughout the class we will focus on commanding the room and talking for maximum effect.
Students will be asked to prepare topics and read short pieces in preparation for each week's class. Homework should not take more than 20 minutes maximum.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Each learner will receive a written, informal assessment midway through the course and at the end of the course.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
