1 hour per week. After each class, students will have approximately one hour of homework. The homework may include a pre-made Quizlet set, passage practice, or a worksheet.Assessment
When you first enroll, I'll message you and your student a practice exam. Ideally, they'll send me their answers before we meet for the first time. Their score on the pre-test will be used to structure future classes based on their weaknesses. After every four classes, I'll message a follow-up test to see how your student is improving.Class Experience

**** GET $10 OFF YOUR FIRST CLASS WITH THE CODE WINKLERR10 Going from reading the Young Adult books students are used to to the literature passage of the SAT is often a jarring experience. The grammar section makes countless students wonder what subject-verb agreement even means (it’s only the most common type of grammar question on the test). But this doesn’t have to be the case for your child. In my class, your student will build the skills they need for the SAT English exam without dreading the process. Your child will get: -A teacher who is there to motivate them to keep studying and who will always pick them up when they feel overwhelmed or frustrated (because trust me this test can be overwhelming and frustrating) -Personalized instruction based on their strengths and weaknesses I, as the teacher, will make sure: -They’re familiar with the new Digital version of the exam -Teach them strategies for each question type -Send them passage practice -Track their progress through a pre-test and follow-up tests (after every four classes) What your student will do outside of class: -A pre-test (which I’ll message them right when they enroll) -Homework (usually studying with pre-made Quizlets or passage practice) -Post-test (after every four classes) Sample Plan: Sign up for class → Link to pre-test Ideally, the student will complete the pre-test before the first class. If there isn’t enough time, don’t worry. They can send it to me as soon as they’re able to. We will spend the class reviewing the question types they missed the most often. I will present a general strategy and then we will drill practice questions. ***This class only covers the English section, not the Math section.***
Learning Goals
Students will feel confident on test day, as they'll know how to tackle the SAT English section. They'll build their reading comprehension skills, grammar knowledge, and test-taking strategies in this class.
