US Grade 4 - 6
Long division is a notable challenge the marks the transition from elementary mathematics to advanced mathematics. In this class series, students will learn three methods for solving long division problems both without and with remainders. In the first class, students will learn the traditional long division method without remainders. In the second class, students will learn the "Big 7" method, which is helpful for students less confident in multiplication/division facts. Third, we will learn "short" division, which is helpful for students who can perform long division but want to do it with less steps. In the final class, we will learn about "remainders" and practice solving problems using the three methods learned. Each class will include a lesson and several practice problems that students will complete under guidance. Optional homework problems will be provided and may be reviewed in the following class, as needed, or through messaging/the classroom if time is constrained.

I'm an accountant with a teaching background who enjoys learning and strives to foster a love of learning in students through games and interactive learning. I believe students learn best when they are having fun and interacting with the material.
I have always had a passion for learning and have diverse interests. I'm especially passionate about building strong foundations in language and math. I believe confidence in these two areas will give students the tools to learn almost anything they'd like to in life.
As an accountant, I have expertise in mathematics and finance. I'm an Enrolled Agent and believe everyone should be proficient in budgeting and personal finance. I believe a strong foundation in math is important to develop advanced skills with numbers later in life. Likewise, strong grammar and language skills will help students communicate effectively and give them the tools to learn anything they'd like to. I'm also passionate about culture and language and have formally studied nine languages, including studying abroad. I want to share the world with students through language and exploration.
I hope to share my love of learning with each of my students as they explore their personal interests. In doing so, students will become lifelong learners and continue to grow in and out of the classroom.
