Beginner Level
In this live 3-day class, students will become confident, creative users of Google Slides. We’ll move step-by-step through the basics—learning how to insert and format text, add images and links, draw with shapes, and design fun slides. Each class begins with a short demonstration, followed by hands-on practice, creativity challenges, and time for questions and sharing. Learners will build a personal project slide during the final session using all the skills they’ve gained. This class is perfect for beginners or students who know the basics but want to get more confident using Slides for school or creative fun. My teaching style is supportive, upbeat, and designed to help students feel successful and excited to share what they’ve created.

Getting Started with Google Slides
Students will learn how to navigate the Google Slides interface, use the filmstrip, and begin formatting slides with text boxes and titles. They’ll practice typing and designing a personal slide with their name and a fun fact.

Lesson 2:
Adding Links, Images, and Shapes
Students will build on their skills by inserting links, images, and shapes. They’ll learn how to format and layer objects, add callouts, and personalize a slide about a favorite topic using visual elements.

Lesson 3:
My Favorite Things Project & Showcase
Students will apply everything they’ve learned to create a final slide about their favorite things. They’ll use text, images, shapes, GIFs, and links. Class ends with an optional student share-out and tips for using Google Slides creatively.

Learning Needs
This class welcomes all learners, including those with ADHD, ASD, or other learning differences. Instruction is step-by-step, visual, and highly supportive to help students feel confident and successful.
Parental Guidance
Students will need access to a Google account with Google Slides enabled. No third-party tools beyond Google Slides will be used. Content is safe and age-appropriate. Some external websites (e.g., for images or GIFs) may be used during instruction.
Pre-Requisites
Students should be able to access Google Slides using their Google account independently. No prior experience with Slides is needed.
