⭐This is a self-paced course. There will be no live meetings. In this course, students will learn how to draw and paint 8 designs that were inspired by famous Master Artists Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, Wassily Kandinsky, Yayoi Kusama, Georgia O'Keeffe, Henri Matisse, and Gustav Klimt. Designed with beginners in mind, the pre-recorded video classes in this course are suitable for ages 7-10. Students will learn basic drawing and painting techniques and apply these techniques to complete the projects in this course. This art course is designed to give beginner artists the skills they need to jump-start their artistic journey into self-expression, reflection, and creative thinking. 🔸Included with each class is a short artist biography video. Each informational video includes images and facts about the artist and is suitable for all ages. Supplies and materials needed for this course: +watercolor paper +set of watercolor paints +acrylic paint (black) +paint brushes +oil pastels or crayons +colored pencils +pencil with an eraser +permanent marker +12" ruler +small paper plate (to use as a palette) +cup of water +paper towels *Supply list for each project is included at the beginning of each project video Total time needed for students to complete each project is approximately 45 minutes. These are self-paced video classes where students may proceed through the classes at their own pace. Videos may be paused at any time. There will be no live meetings, however, I will be available for questions and gentle encouragement. It is important to me that your learner's experience is a positive one. My teaching style is relaxed, supportive, joyful, and fun. I encourage students to add their own details to their masterpieces to make them their own. I'm open to any comments, questions, or feedback that you may have.

Draw an 'Abstract Cubist Portrait' Design Inspired by Pablo Picasso
In this 'Abstract Cubist Portrait' drawing class, we will discuss the art supplies needed for this project. The we will watch a short video with examples of Picasso's portraits. Next, we will review coloring techniques. With a permanent marker, we will then combine shapes and lines to create an Abstract Cubist Portrait. Finally, we will begin coloring our design. We will discuss the application of color, how to change the value of a color, and how to create the look of texture. 24 mins of video lessons
Lesson 2:
Draw and Watercolor Paint a 'Parrot & Fruit' Design Inspired by Frida Kahlo
In this drawing & watercolor painting class, we will discuss the art supplies needed for this project. We will review composition and placement of shapes & lines on our sheet of paper. With a pencil, we will then combine shapes and lines to create a 'Parrot & Fruit'. Next, we will outline with oil pastels or crayons. Finally, we will begin painting our design. We will discuss the application of watercolor paints, how to change the value of a paint color, and how to create the look of texture. 23 mins of video lessons
Lesson 3:
Drawing and Watercolor Painting 'Concentric Circles' by Artist Wassily Kandinsky
In this 'Concentric Circles' drawing and watercolor painting class, we will discuss the art supplies needed for this project. We will review composition and placement of lines and Concentric Circles on our sheet of paper. With a pencil and ruler, we will draw lines to create a simple grid. We will then draw Concentric Circles. Lastly, we will paint our design while discussing the application of watercolor paints, how to change the value of a paint color, and how to create the look of texture. 17 mins of video lessons
Lesson 4:
Drawing and Watercolor Painting a 'Big Flower' Inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe
In this drawing and watercolor painting class, we will discuss the art supplies needed for this project. We will review composition and placement of shapes, patterns, and lines on our paper. Using a pencil, we will then combine shapes and lines to create a 'Big Flower' design. Once our drawing is complete, we will outline our design with acrylic paint, then let it dry. Lastly, we will discuss the application of watercolor paints and begin painting the 'Big Flower' design and the background. 21 mins of video lessons
