US Grade 9 - 12
Intermediate - Advanced Level
This class covers writing APA formatted assignments. This includes setting up a title page, reference page, making in-text citations, writing academically, and developing a thesis and outline for an essay. This will help prepare students for college research and current writing standards. The class will be structured into 4 sessions, once a week, to cover 4 topics: - Setting up an APA paper - Writing styles and mechanics - Researching scholarly & credible articles - Developing a thesis and outline for an APA paper As I share my screen and present information, students can participate freely in an encouraging environment. They may comfortably ask questions and express their ideas in class discussions. I believe in patience, understanding, and finding the method that works best for each student. Students can interact when they would like to share their ideas with the group. They will also be able to interact with me by sharing their research results and by sharing their writing as they receive revisions and feedback on their work. Students should have some familiarity with high school writing and Google Docs or Word.
