US Grade 5 - 7
Welcome! Thank you for checking out my course. During this ongoing summer course, students will meet twice a week to build their math skills and understanding of the concepts outlined in the 6th grade common core state math standards. Whether your child is looking to review and brush up on their seventh-grade math skills, or get a jump start on next year, this is a fun and engaging course designed with them in mind. During this hands on, engaging math camp, your student will interact as they are introduced to each daily concept. To scaffold your students learning, we will begin each concept with teacher modeling and instruction. Next, we will complete examples and practice together. Finally, each new concept will have independent practice where students can practice the new material and the teacher can check for understanding. After each class, the students will be given a worksheet to encourage mastery their new learning and review previous lessons. These lessons will be reviewed and checked at the start of the following class meeting. Course Outline- Week of June 17 Operations Week of June 24 Expressions and Equations Week of July 1 Decimals and Fractions Week of July 8 Fractions Week of July 15 Percents Week of July 22 Factors and Multiples Week of July 29 Exponents I am a licensed teacher and mom to four. I began tutoring students in math and language arts twenty-five years ago. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in education and currently hold a teaching license with endorsements in reading, math, social studies, and middle school. Immediately after college, I began teaching in a public elementary school and have taught hundreds of students. Math and reading are my favorite subjects. My love for getting lost in a good book is just as strong as my love for working with numbers and solving math problems. I believe one of the best ways to inspire students to learn is to love what you are teaching them! A teacher's enthusiasm is contagious, and gets students excited as well! I hope you will join me in learning through an active, engaging hands-on math course that will encourage your child to love learning! I look forward to meeting you and hope you will contact me with any questions you may have.

Iowa Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I am a wife, mom to four kids and a teacher! I began tutoring students in math and language arts twenty-four years ago. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in elementary education and currently hold a teaching license with endorsements in reading, math, social studies, and middle school. Immediately after college, I began teaching in a public elementary school and have taught hundreds of students.
Currently I am a homeschool mom, and enjoy teaching my own children and many more online. There is something incredibly special and rewarding when you watch a child's eyes light up during learning, when numbers start to make sense, when letters begin to create words, and when they find themselves lost in a good book!
Math and reading are my favorite school subjects. My love for getting lost in a good book is just as strong as my love for working with numbers and solving math problems. I hope you will join me in learning through active, hands-on courses that encourage your child to love learning! I look forward to meeting you!
