Class Experience

What is news? It seems like a simple question with a simple answer. However, the answer can sometimes be complex depending on where you are, who you are talking to, and everything else that may be happening. In this 2-part class, we will go through the elements that help determine newsworthiness, discuss news types, and analyze examples. Students will also gain an understanding of objective reporting vs. editorializing. Students can participate as observers, or they may actively participate in discussions.
