Have you ever wanted to become a superhero? Masks: A New Generation, a tabletop roleplaying game from Magpie Games, allows players to portray super-powered teens. Set in Halcyon City, a fictional contemporary locale where superheroes are not a secret, but a part of everyday life, Masks provides a fun and engaging atmosphere for tabletop gamer of all experience levels. This easy-to-learn game uses the Powered by the Apocalypse system, which requires only two six-sided dice (d6) to play. A quick explanation of the rules and setting are all players need to get started. Name your hero, choose their look, and work with your fellow players to design your team! Masks is a fantastic tabletop roleplaying game for a first time RPG player or an experienced D&D expert who is looking for something new and different. Your hero might step into a leadership role for the first time, learn to trust again after years of only relying on herself, finally overcome a dark secret from his past, or discover that their powers are greater than they ever imagined. The Heroes Rising campaign will focus on establishing the team and on the character learning how to use their powers as a force for good in the world. Our first session will be devoted to creating characters and learning the Masks rules. Each player will choose a Playbook as a starting point for their character. Every Playbook has a unique question used to build the team's back story. By the end of this session, players should be comfortable using the Basic and Playbook Moves. Sessions 2-4 will follow our young heroes' adventures through Halcyon City, the superhero capital of the world. Game sessions will include team building, roleplaying (narrating or acting out the characters' actions), and combat. Our story arc concludes at the end of our fourth session. This is a four-session intensive run over three consecutive days. Character creation (session 1) and the first play session (session 2) will take place on the same day with a short break between meetings. If you are looking for a one-time 90 minute game with pregenerated characters to test the waters, look for GameCon Side Stage: Masks RPG - Sidekicks to the Rescue (One Time).
