Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Welcome, all MARVEL fans! Let's get ready for future MCU projects by brushing up on our comic reading!

If you've never read a single comic book or if you've read every comic book ever written, this class is for you! I highly suggest subscribing to Marvel Unlimited, as all of the comics we'll be reading will be digitally available through this easy to use web service. Each week, students will read three comic books, then come together as a group and discuss the characters and story lines. Then shalt thou read to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt read, and the number of the reading shall be three. Four shalt thou not read, neither read thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. (Monty Python Quote)

I research and share lots of background story and interesting information as we flip through the comics together. My students love to share their favorite parts, laugh together at funny moments, share exciting information with each other, read in funny voices, and even create spontaneous comic book theme songs! Many of these comics are rated T for Teen, so please be sure that you and your learner are comfortable with that content rating. Thanks!
