Marvel Super Heroes Role Playing Game

In this class, we will play through the Marvel Super Heroes official game adventures from the producers of Dungeons and Dragons. Students can choose from six pre-made characters for each adventure. If an adventure has already begun, new players can drop in at any time and will be incorporated into the story right away.

Playing storytelling adventure games is a fun and rewarding experience. It's also really good for kids in so many ways, like building creative thinking skills, teamwork, and cooperation. In this class, I provide the story structure, but the learners control the story! Giving learners control over their own adventures is a way of providing the feeling of control kids need in a world where they often don't have any. Make sure to check your child's classroom for comments about where their specific group is in the adventure and what comes next.

Current Adventure: Time Trap

Can a planet be saved AFTER it's destroyed? The Avengers travel through time to save the Earth.
Immortus brings an awful message from Limbo: Earth is doomed! Solar flares and atomic infernos will scour the planet in two days! Only the Mighty Avengers can avert catastrophe, by traveling through time! Can the Avengers change their own past and save the world? Or will the battle for Earth be lost in a horrible Time Trap?

The Breeder Bombs - This scenario pits the X-Men against Magneto, who has planted four dirty radioactive bombs that the heroes must deactivate before they go off. Players take the parts of the Uncanny X-Men, attacked within their own headquarters by a surprise visitor who has an even more surprising motive. One of the X-Men is accused of murder, and clearing him leads the players to the discovery of huge bombs built to release deadly radiation into the atmosphere, to encourage mutations in newborn children. Locations include sites in the United States, USSR, Australia, and Chile. Seven chapters lead the characters through a search to destroy the bombs designed to increase radiation levels and cause millions of mutations. This would result in massive death counts around the world, so the X-Men must fly all over the world to stop this plot of their old arch-enemy, Magneto.
