Avenger fans will listen to a teacher-created superhero story, learn about story structure, and then work together to create their own awesome superhero-themed story that they can print and read at home. If you wish, come dressed as your favorite superhero!
Class experience
Avengers Assemble! We all love how the superheros always save the day! This small group class is a fun combination of storytelling, story writing, dress up, and social time. Your child will be introduced to basic story structure (problem/solution and sequencing). I will share a teacher-created Superhero story on the screen so it’s easy to see and read along. We will identify and discuss the problem and solution in the story. Then, I will guide the learners to work collaboratively to...
Students will interact together while listening to a teacher-created Superhero story and learn basic story structure elements. They will also create their own story with a problem and solution.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will be encouraging students to think of the problem-solving aspects of being a superhero, but some students may bring up fighting and "bad guys" due to the nature of the topic. Also, I have tried to choose quality images for our stories but some heroes (like Hawkeye and Thor, for example) have a weapon like a hammer or bow.
