The purpose of this course is to introduce young students to the life and work of Martin Luther King, Jr. which led to the establishment of a national holiday in his honor. Lesson Activities 1. Learning Objectives 1. The students will identify three beliefs of Martin Luther King, Jr. 2. The students will describe some important actions of Martin Luther King, Jr’s. in his role as a Civil Rights Leader. 3. The students will write a summary of Martin Luther King’s life that includes information about his 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech.
