Learning Objectives
1.	The students will identify three beliefs of Martin Luther King, Jr.
2.	The students will describe some important actions of Martin Luther King, Jr’s. in his role as a Civil Rights Leader. 
3.	The students will write a summary of Martin Luther King’s life that includes information about his 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech. 
NO homework.

1. A copy of the article, Civil Rights Leaders: Martin Luther King, Jr. 2. Writing materials for completing a written summary of the article.
Each learner will demonstrate their understanding of the lesson objective by completing a written summary of the article following a guide for writing and a writing prompt.
