In this ongoing class we will play a Super Mario memory math game focusing on a different set of multiplication facts each week. We will start with our 0's and 1's and proceed all the way through our 12 times tables, focusing on one set each week. Students will have a handout every week that we will complete together which will help them learn that week's multiplication facts. We will play a Super Mario themed memory math game, where each student will have multiple turns and have multiple chances to practice/learn/review their times tables. We will have time to share any Mario goodies the students would like, stuffies, toys etc.

My class setting is a relaxed, fun, open space for all students to be able to discuss and express their thoughts about what we are learning. I encourage student interaction with not only myself but with their fellow classmates. Everyone is expected to be respectful, positive and listen to one another but also feel like they have the ability to share their own thoughts and opinions. I believe learning should be fun and try to provide a space for that to happen.

As a neurodivergent teacher myself, I incorporate different learning styles (visual, hands-on etc.) to make sure everyone is included & is able to find learning styles that work best for them. I strive to find a balance that includes everyone!

This class cycles back to the beginning every 12 weeks but you can jump in at any time!

Hi! I love to teach classes that are fun and promote discussion and creativity. In all of my classes I mix critical thinking with out of the box thinking so that the kids learn something brand new! I find the best way to do this is by using books, video games, trivia and other interactive components to keep them engaged and wanting to learn.

My passion for critical thought stems from my degree in Philosophy. The integration of pop culture in my classes is rooted in a lifetime of toy collecting, video game playing, and during my time as a staff writer for an online comic book review site. Over the past five years I have created community-based, pop-up craft classes for parents and children that integrate culture and thought, and I am excited about the opportunity to share these types of activities with my students!

Outside of teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband, son and three cats! I like online gaming and spending a lot of time crafting.
