Class Experience

Marine Science Club focuses on marine habitats, local to the Pacific Ocean of Northern California coastline and the San Francisco Bay. Learners will become familiar with identifying these animals and understanding what makes them unique. We will explore by discussing photographs and video footage from our aquarium in Redwood City, CA, and from the field. Students will participate in knowledge shares, stories, and crafts. Learners will learn about the adaptations of a variety of Ocean and Bay animals and will be introduced to a variety of habitats.

All photos and videos will be provided in screen share in the Zoom class. No additional websites will be needed for the learner. 
Typical crafts will include paper, something to color with, scissors, glue, and tape. Some crafts may require additional materials, which are noted on the schedule (paper plates, toilet paper tubes, construction paper, paper cupcake liners, etc)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

40 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
