Description

Class Experience

This one-time class will explore sea turtles. We will learn the 7 species of sea turtles and look at three of them in-depth, the green, hawksbill and leatherback sea turtles. We will learn about their anatomy and how they've adapted to life in the ocean. We'll also explore the life-cycle of sea turtles using our own videos of nesting turtles and emerging hatchlings. Students will learn about sea turtle species, their anatomy, behaviour and lifecycle as well as the threats they face.

WiseOceans is a marine education and conservation company that has been providing virtual and in-person marine education for around ten years. All our marine educators/marine biologists have experience in the field as well as teaching experience.

There is an optional worksheet for further research and learning.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
