US Grade 2 - 5
***This is an ongoing class, your child is able to come in at any time and stay for 8-weeks, or even retake any classes*** *Must be able to write, or have a parent to help* After having two VERY successful Shark Outschool Classes (Cage Diving with Great White Sharks & Shark Showdown an 8-Week Camp Exploring & Tracking Sharks) Per student request, I was asked to create an additional shark class, but this time, about sharks in the DEEP! There are so many shark enthusiasts (like your child!) who love to talk "shark," engage with each other, listen, think critically, and share their stories, and this is a perfect class environment for that! In this weekly camp, we will meet once a week. Class Format: -SHARE TIME Open class with shark facts and discovery discussion! (I have found there is always so much to talk about!) -REVIEW TIME of the previous week's shark and facts remembered. Student's findings for the "Shark of the Week." (At the end of class a shark for the following week will be selected. Children will have the week to research their findings and bring them to class!). While doing this we will interact, listen and communicate our findings, thoughts, and facts in an engaging way. -WORKSHEET TIME of the specific shark, its prey, location (using a map), swimming depths, continental slope, and defense traits. -VIDEO TIME (A short clip video) of the specific shark and talk about the environment of the clip. (Examples: What is the oldest living shark on the planet? A Sixgill Shark?) -TRACKING TIME We will visit Ocearch.org where we will personally pick a shark, fill in the details, draw the location, and track before each class! -GAME TIME Sharks covered per class (in order)- Goblin Shark Bluntnose Sixgill Shark Smalltooth Sand Tiger Shark Frilled Shark Lantern sharks Greenland Shark Megamouth Shark Cookiecutter Shark **NEXT CLASS...if your child LOVED this class and likes a Weekly Class, take a look at my 8-Week Shark Showdown Class! Teacher expertise and credentials
I began teaching with Outschool in 2020. My background consists of traveling the world, of course, which is my favorite! I have been trained and guided by top professionals in various industries. I have two years into completing my degree in Social Science. Being that I have traveled the world, I respect each of the cultures and am not biased. I just love all history and want to share it! I have a background of teaching dance, fitness, tutoring, and homeschool classes combined for over 20-years, but my love is in teaching children! Yes, I am a professional dancer consisting of working for Carnival Cruise Lines, dancing with singers like Toby Keith, LoCash Cowboys, and Cake. As you can see I love the arts and music, and add that with my travels, that makes me a World Traveling Fanatic!
