Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
****This is an ONGOING CLASS****

As you know, this isn't my first shark class! I have many on Outschool but, this time, it's different!

WHO WOULD WIN? In this class, two sharks will be presented each week! Your child may know a lot about sharks, or may be new to learning, either way, we are going to learn about TWO sharks each week. We will compare their stats, learn a few facts and then give them a personal score! The shark with the most points added up, is the SHARK WINNER for the week!

Class Format:
-SHOW & TELL TIME-This is the time to share research, facts, toys and discuss! (I have found there is always so much to talk about!)

-FACT TIME I will introduce the TWO sharks for the week. Here I discuss features, defense mechanisms, survival tactics, and more!

-WORKSHEET/TALLY TIME where we will compare both sharks, side by side and the students will rate them with tally marks.

-WHO WOULD WIN? TIME is when I will gather all points and will determine our shark winner!

-WORD GAME TIME is at the end of class where a phrase is presented and the students need to guess the letters. The phrase will be a fact/phrase learned earlier in class! (Similar to Wheel of Fortune)

CLASS TOPICS:
Each week will be student dictated as to which two sharks will be selected.
Learning Goals
Public speaking, cooperative listening, facts about two new species of sharks each week. History, geography, ocean waters, and temperatures, maps, writing skills, measurements, and spelling in a fun environment. Interact through talking points and with a fun game.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I've been teaching on Outschool since 2020. My background consists of traveling the world, of course, which is my favorite! I have been trained and guided by top professionals in various industries. I have two years into completing my degree in Social Science. Being that I have traveled the world, I respect each of the cultures and am not biased. I just love all history and want to share it! I have a background of teaching dance, fitness, tutoring, and homeschool classes combined for over 20-years, but my love is in teaching children! Yes, I am a professional dancer consisting of working for Carnival Cruise Lines, dancing with singers like Toby Keith, LoCash Cowboys, and Cake. As you can see I love the arts and music, and add that with my travels, that makes me a World Traveling Fanatic!
