US Grade 4 - 7
In this class, students will learn about specific species of fish in Earth's oceans and some of their unique adaptations. In addition to each fish being studied, a related oceanographic or biological concept will be discussed. The class will be taught with a guided presentation for the majority of the class session. At the end of the class, a video of the fish in the wild will be shown and there will be time for discussion and questions. There is a set number of topics that will be taught over the period of several weeks, and once all the topics have been covered, more topics may be added and/or the list of topics will repeat. Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Christopher Madeira and I am going to teach classes about marine biology! I am a graduate of the Marine Academy of Science and Technology and am currently enrolled at Rutgers University studying marine geology. The oceans are so immense and so vast that parts of them can almost seem alien to us. It is super interesting to learn about what inhabits the oceans around us. In addition, learning about the oceans and getting people to care about them is one of the best ways to help conserve the oceans.
