Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will learn about the deep-sea communities including deep-sea animals such as fish, cephalopods, sharks, and crustaceans. They'll have the opportunity to share their learning through a short student presentation during the 6th class. 

Lesson #1  - Deep Sea Communities
Lesson #2 – Deep Sea Fish I: Anglerfish, Fangtooth, Sloane’s Viperfish, and Snailfish
Lesson #3 – Deep Sea Cephalopods: Dumbo Octopus, Vampire Squid and Giant Squid
Lesson #4 – Deep Sea Shark: Megamouth, Goblin & Frilled Sharks; 
Lesson #5- Deep Sea Crustaceans & Sponges – Giant Isopod, Japanese Spider & Yeti crabs; sponges: Harp Sponge & Venus’ Flower Basket
Lesson #6 - Student live presentations
Students can create a project about their favorite deep-sea plant or animal and present it live to the class on the last day. Live presentations can range from 2 minutes to up to 5 minutes per student to give ample time to each student presenter. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I will give kind feedback to students about their live presentations.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
We'll be using Quizlet for reviewing the lesson content and possibly 1 - 2 YouTube videos embedded into the Outschool class page.

 The slideshow pdf is a copy of my teacher created Microsoft PowerPoint lesson presentation. The student study guide is a fillable pdf file. I will be sharing both resources through screensharing. If we have time during the live class for the YouTube videos, we’ll view them from the Outschool class page using screen sharing. If time permits, we'll review the lesson through screensharing Quizlet and 1 - 2 YouTube videos from the Outschool class page.
