US Grade 2 - 5
This camp will look at marine megafauna - iconic large animals that soften spark a child's interest and love for the oceans. The topics are: Monday: Sea turtles Tuesday: Dolphins Wednesday: Sharks Thursday : Whales In each class, we will explore the anatomy and behaviour of the animal, some of the different species as well as looking at the threats they face (and what we can do to help). I'll share lots of videos, photos - including ones that have been taken by WiseOceans during our work around the world. We will share our first-hand experiences of interactions with some of these creatures, bringing to life each topic. The class is based around a presentation and the emphasis is on interaction, questions and curiosity. The style is informal but firmly based on science. We finish each class with a fun pop quiz and there's an optional worksheet to complete during or after the class. No previous knowledge is required.
