What is science of taxonomy? How are marine animals classified? What are the adaptations marine creatures have that help them survive in their ocean habitat? How does human activity impact these environments. These will be the questions driving the course content during our time in class. At the end of each class period learners will be able to: -identify one example of the concept(s) explored during class. -explain one way the concept(s) explored during class relate to human society.
I strive to create learner-centered, integrated lessons that relate content to students’ lives. I believe that my educational background in the field of marine science, professional teaching degree and extensive experiencing developing/delivering educational programs for all ages, will generate a class experience that fosters learners' appreciation for our oceans and environment. Learners will be informally assessed through discussion and chat session. Learners will be given an class "exit ticket" to assess student's achievement.
